Jon Bengtson, Chairman, is a co-founder and director of AirWire since its inception and was appointed Chairman of the Board in July 2007. Mr. Bengtson began his career at Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc., where he was employed in various management positions for nine years, including Vice President of Management Information Systems. He also worked in numerous financial and marketing roles for companies such as International Game Technology, The Sands Regent Hotel Casino and Radica Games Limited. Moreover, Mr. Bengtson was a founder and Chief Financial Officer of ShareGate, Inc., a venture funded telecommunications equipment company. He holds a B.S. in business administration and a MBA from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Gil Amelio, Director, began his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories, is Senior Partner of Sienna Ventures (a privately-held venture capital firm in Sausalito, California) and has acted in this capacity since 2001. Dr. Amelio was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jazz Technologies, Inc. (an analog-intensive mixed-signal semiconductor foundry solutions company) from 2005 until 2008 (at which time he was named Chairman Emeritus). Dr. Amelio was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Beneventure Capital, LLC (a venture capital firm) from 1999 to 2005 and was Principal of Aircraft Ventures, LLC (a consulting firm) from 1997 to 2004. Prior to that, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Apple Computer Inc. from 1996 to 1997 and National Semiconductor Corporation from 1991 to 1996. Dr. Amelio is responsible for a number of patents. Dr. Amelio graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology where he earned his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics. He was elected a Director of AT&T in 2001 and had previously served as an Advisory Director of AT&T from 1997 to 2001. He served as a Director of Pacific Telesis Group from 1995 until the company was acquired by AT&T (then known as SBC Communications Inc.) in 1997. He is the Chairperson of the Human Resources Committee and a member of the Executive Committee and the Public Policy Committee. He is a Director of InterDigital, Inc. and Galectin Therapeutics, Inc. (formerly known as Pro-Pharmaceuticals, Inc). He previously served as a Director of Jazz Technologies, Inc. (2005-2008).
Debashis Bagchi, President & CEO, brings 20 years of startup experience in wireless, telecommunications, semiconductor, software and gaming industries as a businessman, entrepreneur, strategist and inventor. Prior to AirWire, Mr. Bagchi served as the Chairman of the Board of ShareGate – a residential gateway equipment provider. As CEO, he led ShareGate where he raised $30M from Silicon Valley venture capitalists thereby establishing important strategic relationships with service providers and telecom equipment manufacturers. At ShareGate, he was instrumental in growing a team from its initial headcount of 4 to a headcount of over 100 and recruited the appropriate executive management, administrative, and engineering teams. During that time, he co-authored two patents both of which have been granted and issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Bagchi holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Lucknow University, India.
Forrest Wolf, VP Product Development, brings more than 30 years of technical, operational and management experience in startup organizations, strategic planning, engineering, operations, customer service and employee training. Prior to joining AirWire, Mr. Wolf managed engineering teams as the Director Engineering at International Game Technology and Bally Technologies, and as manager of an operations team for ShareGate Inc. Mr. Wolf holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Gerardo Gonzalez, VP of Sales, brings over 20 years of experience in technical sales and sales management. He also brings experience in marketing, networking and telecom integrated circuit solutions to industry leading companies. At AMD, he managed sales in Mexico. Increasing 1999 processor market share by 19 percent, compared to a 15 percent worldwide benchmark against Intel. At Globespan/Virata, Mr. Gonzalez successfully established partnerships with leading CPE manufacturers via a protocol stack solution leading to a sales run rate of $16 million per year. Mr. Gonzalez holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.A. in Spanish Literature from Stanford University.
Subodh Saxena, President, AirWire Technologies India, Subodh Saxena, Advisor, cVidya Networks Ltd., and an independent consultant, has strong expertise in policy, regulation, market and technology roadmaps in IT &Telecom sector. He belongs to Indian Telecom Service and was the President of Reliance Telecom / Infocomm (Reliance Communications) from 2000 through 2005. In that role he orchestrated positioning Reliance as national level telecom services provider. He has rich experience in evolving start-up organizations like BSNL, MTNL, TCIL, Reliance, Smart Telecom Indonesia & Hayat Communications UAE into successful enterprises through ingenious & tactical initiatives. He continues to sharpen his analysis of IT & Telecom landscape and emerging scenario through interactions with a select panel of specialists & participation in important industry events. As Scholar Member (representing top 11% professionals) of Gerson Lehrman Group Telecom Council he has completed several important consultancy projects for business, Government and investment leaders shaping the IT & Telecom industry. He is also engaging in dynamic exchanges and providing consultancy through Guidepoint Global & DeMatteo Monness networks. He has obtained BSc, BE & MBA degrees from reputed institutes. He was awarded Alumni Achievement Award (AIM AAA), the highest honour to an alumnus by Asian Institute of Management, Philippines.
